AC Shadows Unveils Bizarre Attack on Titan Event for Thanksgiving
In a unexpected collaboration that defies usual expectations, Ubisoft has announced an virtual crossover between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the acclaimed anime series Attack on Titan. The unexpected holiday event continues from November 25 through December 22, including complimentary bonus story content for Shadows players.
Strange Mission Revealed
According to the official release, "A strange confrontation pulls heroes Naoe and Yasuke into a fresh adventure, where whispers of prohibited ceremonies and terrifying metamorphoses resonate through the shadows." The storyline presents a "oddly dressed woman named Ada" who assigns the duo with venturing into the Crystalline Cavern—a significant location from Attack on Titan—to rescue her companion from a secret sect.
The questline focuses on "peculiar tests and a monstrous adversary" and is accessible to all players who have acquired the Yasuke character.
Recognizable Locations and Changes
The trailer showcases the Subterranean Sanctuary from Attack on Titan redesigned as the Crystal Cave. This important location was formerly where the Reiss royal family handed down the Founding Titan ability through eras. The trailer ends with a dramatic moment showing a character, presumably the hostage, transforming into a Titan that towers over Naoe and Yasuke.
Special Items and Additional Material
Players who accomplish the quest will obtain an exclusive katana alongside several items hidden throughout the area in concealed chests. The update also includes purchasable Attack on Titan item packs, including:
- Titan-themed attire for Yasuke
- Mikasa outfit for Naoe
- Unique weapons
- Survey Corps mount
Latest Free Story Update
This release also adds the game's latest no-cost story content, titled "The Enigma." This humorous quest partners Naoe and Yasuke as they swap characteristic abilities: Naoe debuts a performative version of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke acquires subduing stealth takedowns. True to its name, "The Enigma" also features a original environmental puzzle that may eventually shed light on some unanswered questions from the main storyline.
